About Brixworth Country Park
Close to the historic village of Brixworth, Northamptonshire's
youngest Country Park is a patchwork of meadows and newly
planted woodland with stunning views over Pitsford Water.
There is a purpose made cycle track that follows the shore
of Pitsford Water making a seven mile circular route that
is frequented by both cyclists and walkers alike.
Pitsford Water is a Site of Special Scientific Interest
(SSSI). The water is home to wading birds such as Greenshank,
is the site of the county's largest winter gull roost and
is regularly visited by Ospreys on their spring migrations.

The park is a haven for wildlife - listen out for the song
of the Skylark in the skies overhead or look out for signs
of the Badgers that forage in the meadows at night.
Brixworth is a delight for human visitors too, with many
opportunities to explore and enjoy our countryside. Fully
accessible features and facilities include a Visitor Centre
with hands on activities, displays, souvenir and crafts
shop and both manual and electric wheelchairs available
for hire.
As well as the Willow
Tree restaurant and the Visitor Centre there is a cycle
shop where you can buy or hire a full range of bikes including
some which have kids' trailers attached.
In the park adjacent to the visitor centre there is a small
pond and an area of gardens with sensory experiences such
as scented plants and herbs, tactile displays and creepy
crawlies hiding in the water and the undergrowth for children
to explore and discover ! There are also sculptures, bird
hides various trails to follow and much much more. All in
all a great day out for the whole family.
Why not also check out Pitsford
Cycles, where you can
buy or hire bicycles for riding around the park. If you
would like to know more about the park itself, visit this
page from Northamptonshire County Coucil or have a look
at the Anglian
Water site.
| A new walk has been opened in Northamptonshire
called the TFC Northamptonshire Round. It
